Halloween - Trick or Treat?

October 26, 2017

When the clocks go back, the ghosts and ghouls come out to play!

Every supermarket these days displays aisles of paraphernalia tempting shoppers to indulge in the spooky carryings-on that is now associated with the Halloween holiday. Children and adults alike want to dress to impress in outfits and make-up that sends shivers through the neighbourhood.

Here, we're sharing our favourite things about this seasonal celebration.

Pumpkin recipes

What other time of the year do you see such an abundance of pumpkins for sale? And what better time of the year to try delicious pumpkin recipes, like this warming soup, topped off with a fabulous creamy ghost.

Pumpkin Carving

With the need for special tools and a high level of skill, carving the perfect pumpkin is becoming as competitive amongst neighbours as Christmas fairy light wars.

Find a pumpkin on display outside the front door and the householder is happy to receive 'Trick or Treat-ers' - no pumpkin and the message is 'walk on by!'

Stay safe

If you and your family decide to spend an evening out, in your best Halloween costume with your Trick & Treat bucket, please ensure you stay safe, look after your friends and neighbours and enjoy the spooky fun!

Take guidance from the beautiful colours in nature at this time of year if you are offering any interior design advice to your customers.  Golden yellow, burnt orange and russet reds make fabulous accent colours to liven up a neutral room.  Even a smattering of autumnal shade cushions will transform a sofa instantly, breathing in a glorious cosy feel to banish the winter blues!
